Ms. Mary Ann Barry—
Born: circa 1851
- Married - no marriages are recorded here.
In 1871, Vane and Mary Ann were in Greenwich, with Montague and Millie By 1873, Mary Ann had a further daughter, Mary, who did not survive , but no certificate has been found. Mary Ann died, June 24, 1873, from “accidental haemorrage during premature labour”. She was aged 22, and the certificate shows her as Mary Ann St John, wife of Vane Ireton St.John, author.
1873 M.A.Barry, died Holborn.
I have found a remarkable thing -2 death certificates One for Mary Ann St.John. Pentonvlle, Holborn, Middx.Jun 24, 1873, Wife of Vane Ireton St John. "Bowden, present at the death registered June 27 Jasper William registrar".
The second is for Mary Barry, almost illegible, 11th October, 1873. age 12 weeks. dau of James Barry, a chair maker. Saint Saviour,Surrey. Registered Oct 14, 1873. This could be a co-incidence, but could it be that Mary Ann died in Childbirth and the baby survived for 12 weeks? I could only find a Mary Louisa Barry born Sept Q in Marylebone.
