Source: Charles Sharp Middleton II, born Bromley, 1867. He married, firstly, in Australia, Florence Genevieve St John, daughter of Vane St John: they were first cousins. He subsequently married, in 1898, Helena Jessie Bryant, born in Cardiff Glamorgan. In 1891,they were in West Bromwich, with their first child, aged 1, Charles Sharp Middleton III. They had further children, Olwyn Hugh,1901 - 1973, Alva L., 1903 - 1974, Syvia E., 1905, and Walter, 1907 - 1979. Florence married Edmund Hudson, a lamplighter, 1913, Lambeth.

Source: Charles was born in Bromley, though the 1901 census states he was born in India (British Subject). He was taken to India as a small boy and his first recollections were of that country, therefore he thought he was born there. His marriage to Florence Genevieve St.John in 1888 was announced in the Queesnlander. In 1910 he sailed in the SS Orvieto with his second wife Helena and young family to Australia and settled there.
